All participants will start at Bradfield Park, Milsons Point, under the northern end of the bridge adjacent to Milsons Point Station and run across the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Centennial Park, before returning through the city to the inner west.

Runners will turn around at Norton Street, Leichhardt and head to the finish at Sydney Opera House.

The closest CityRail station is Milsons Point.

All participants to the Sydney Running Festival on Sunday 20 September 2009 are eligible for free travel on public transport. Simply show your chest bib to travel by regular train, bus or ferry services on the event day. The integrated ticket will cover Sydney Metro as well as Scone, Dungog (Newcastle), Lithgow, Goulburn, Richmond and Bomaderry (Wollongong) and in-between.

Customers are advised that the integrated ticket does not include travel on Light Rail, Monorail or private bus and ferry services. An additional station access fee applies for entrants travelling on regular CityRail services to and from Green Square, Mascot, Airport (Domestic) and Airport (International).

Special traffic arrangements are in place at Milsons Point, Sydney CBD, Millers Point, Darlinghurst, Surry Hills, Moore Park, Kensington, Randwick, Pyrmont, Rozelle, Lilyfield and Haberfield for the Sydney Running Festival on Sunday 20 September 2009.

Road closures are in place from approximately 4am until 1pm and buses will be diverted throughout the duration of the race.

Sydney Harbour Bridge northbound and southbound lanes are closed between 4am and 10am. The Sydney Harbour Tunnel will remain open, however oversize and dangerous goods vehicles are advised to use the Gladesville and Anzac Bridges.

Traffic delays are expected. Patrons attending the Sydney Running Festival are advised to use public transport.

Please note there is no access to Macquarie St. from 4am to 12pm. Friends and family can walk to either the Sydney Opera House finish line or the Recovery Village located in the Royal Botanic Gardens.

The closest CityRail stations for the start and finish points are:
• Start – Milsons Point Station
• Finish – Circular Quay Station

CityRail are running additional services between Central and North Sydney every 8 minutes from 5am until 9am.

Other CityRail services are operating to normal weekend timetable.

Important trackwork information
Upgrading work takes place on CityRail lines on a regular basis and it is sometimes necessary to alter train services or replace train services with buses. Buses are replacing trains on the following lines:

City Circle: Trains operate in one direction only, from Central via Town Hall.

Airport & East Hills Line: Airport & East Hills Line trains are not operating. Buses replace Airport Line trains between Sydenham and Central via the Airport. Buses stop at Sydenham, International Airport, Domestic Airport, Mascot, Green Square and Central only. Buses replace East Hills Line trains between Macarthur and Sydenham via East Hills. Trains continue to operate between Sydenham and the City.

South Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur and Liverpool.

Southern Highlands Line: Buses replace trains between Goulburn, Campbelltown and Liverpool. Limited express buses also operate to Central and return.

Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: There is no trackwork on this line, however, trackwork on the City Circle and Airport & East Hills Line may affect how you travel.

South Coast Line: There is no trackwork on this line, however, trackwork on the Airport & East Hills Line may affect how you travel.

Road closures are in place from approximately 4am until 12pm and buses will be diverted throughout the duration of the race.

Passengers alighting from buses in possession of valid bus tickets, are to be permitted to travel on trains between 4am and 1pm, between the following stations in both directions

Nth Sydney - Central, including Milson’s Point, Wynyard and Town Hall.
Bondi Jct - Central, including Edgecliff, Kings Cross, Martin Place and Town Hall. 
Central - Circular Quay via Museum and St James. 
Central - Circular Quay via Town Hall and Wynyard.

Passengers are advised to allow extra travel time for their journey.

Bus Diversions and temporary terminal arrangements are in place from 4am until 12pm.  See Sydney Buses website for specific bus diversions closer to the event.

Parking Information

Parking at the start:
There is no parking adjacent to the start area and event clearways will be in operation for the event. Parking in local streets is very limited. If you are planning to park in local residential streets, please ensure that you obey the local parking restrictions to avoid being fined.

Parking at finish:
Cook and Phillip Pool car park: Entry via Cathedral St (off St Mary’s Rd). Special opening time of 5.30am.

Domain car park - Sir John Young Crescent, Woolloomooloo. Entry via St Marys Rd. Special opening time of 5.30am.

Accessibility Information

You can find accessible transport options by using the Trip Planner and checking the Easy Access/wheelchair accessible option.  This will ensure that only accessible train platforms, ferry wharves and buses are presented.  Read more about this option.

CityRail
Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall, Central, Milsons Point and Circular Quay stations are all wheelchair accessible.

Customers requiring wheelchair accessible transport through areas affected by trackwork should contact their local station prior to departure to arrange a low floor bus or other suitable vehicle. Please allow additional time if you require this service.

Sydney Buses
54% of State Transit’s fleet are now wheelchair accessible, and each new bus introduced into the fleet will increase the number of wheelchair accessible buses.  Features of these buses include wide doors, wide aisles and space for two mobility aides such as wheelchairs, some ride-on scooters and prams or strollers.

Sydney Ferries
The entire Sydney Ferries fleet is wheelchair accessible via the 23 wheelchair accessible ferry wharves (pending tidal and safety conditions) For more information please click here.
