Important trackwork information
Participants are asked to make alternative arrangements in areas affected by trackwork and service changes as space for bikes may not be available on replacement bus services. Please plan ahead.

Upgrading work takes place on CityRail lines on a regular basis and it is sometimes necessary to alter train services or replace train services with buses. Buses are replacing trains on the following lines:

Newcastle & Central Coast Line: trains operate between Newcastle, Wyong and Strathfield only. Suburban trains continue to operate between Strathfield and the City.

Western Line: buses replace trains between Penrith and Blacktown.

Blue Mountains Line: buses replace trains between Lithgow and Blacktown.

Please note: bicycles are only allowed on CityRail replacement bus services at the discretion of the driver. Should the driver ascertain that the bike poses a safety hazard, the driver has the right to refuse participants’ entry onto the bus.

For trackwork information visit www.cityrail.info/service_updates/trackwork/

Use the 131 500 Trip Planner to help plan your journey. It will give you up-to-date train and bus timetable information. Timetable information for buses replacing trains is available from Thursday 11 March.
