The NSW State Government and its transport agencies are committed to making it easier for the people of the greater Sydney region to access public transport. Improvements underway include making train stations, ferry wharves and buses easily accessible for everyone, including those with disabilities or people travelling with young children or luggage.
Note: Holders of vision impaired persons' passes are entitled to free travel on CityRail, Sydney buses, Sydney Ferries and Newcastle Buses and Ferries services. Guide dogs and hearing registered as assistance animals are also permitted on these services.
For areas where accessible public transport is available, a wheelchair accessible taxi may be booked on (02) 8332 0200.
Easy Access trip planning
We invite customers with mobility issues to try out this new service by using this website or calling the 131500 Transport Infoline to plan 'easy access' journies on CityRail, Sydney Buses, Sydney Ferries, Newcastle Buses and Ferries and some private bus services.
If you have a problem accessing any information on this website, please phone 131 500 to speak with a friendly information agent. This service is available between 6.00am and 10.00pm, seven days a week.
What are easy access options?
Easy access trip plans are designed to provide people travelling with wheelchairs, prams or luggage with point-to-point travel information using only transport services and stops/stations that are rated as accessible. This involves restricting our standard trip planner and timetable searches to present only low-floor buses (with accessible ramps) and/or train stations and ferry wharves that can be accessed by people with mobility issues.
