School Bus Trip planning instructions

School Bus trip plans can now be searched using the 131500 Transport Infoline website and call centre services.

Upgrades made to the 131500 services in January 2007 have included the option to search for school bus services operated by Sydney Buses and Newcastle Buses. These enhanced services should be used in conjunction with the information provided by Schools.

Options for searching for School Bus timetables include:

• 131500 School Bus Trip Planner
• 131500 School Bus Timetables
• State Transit website School timetable and map search
• Private Bus School timetable searches

It should be noted that on occasion, school bus services may be adjusted by bus operators to better reflect student travel demands, especially during February at the start of Term 1. The 131500 website timetables will be updated as soon as possible, however some variations may be present. To ensure students are kept informed, Sydney Buses and Newcastle Buses will inform the schools concerned about any significant service changes.

Full descriptions of School Bus timetable search options

Option 1 - 131500 School Bus Trip Planner

Simply enter your home and school locations and receive suggested travel plans using your preferred combination of transport modes. The 6 step process is shown below:

Step 1. Click on "Plan your trip" to start a new trip.

Step 2. Enter your "From" and "To" locations, by either Street, Landmark or School.

Step 3. Select the combination of services you which to travel on:

Step 4. Search the trip by clicking on your travel preference. It is recommended that you select 'search least transfers' when doing a school search:

Step 5. Choose "Slow Walk Speed" to get the most appropriate school services:

Step 6. The trip planner will confirm your "From" and "To" locations and then present your trip plan results. Maps can also be viewed by following the links.

Option 2 - 131500 School Bus Timetables

Step 1. Click on "Plan your trip" and choose "Timetables" to begin your search.

Step 2. Enter your school route number.

Step 3. Select the combination of services you which to travel on

Step 4. Select your day of travel and click on 'go'

Step 5. You will need to confirm your bus from the list by clicking on the appropriate bus route.

Step 6. Your timetable will generate. Maps can also be viewed by following the links.

Option 3 - Sydney Buses and Newcastle Buses website Timetable and Route Maps

Timetables and route maps of all School Bus services operated by Sydney Buses and Newcastle Buses are available on the State Transit website. On this website, you can find a list of all School Buses that operate to and from a particular school.

Option 4 - Private Bus Operator School Information

Timetables of Private School Bus services are now available on the bus operators websites.
