Current Service Status - Friday January 18, 2013

Start: 18/01/2013 06:50 PM

Public transport customers should take care and travel with a water bottle during today's extreme heat. If you feel unwell, don't board the train, bus or ferry. Ask a member of staff for help. If you are on a train and feel unwell, get off at the next station where you can get help from staff.

TRAINS

Trains across the CityRail network are delayed up to 60 minutes due to overhead wiring and signal problems and the extreme heat. Frequent services are operating but they are not to timetable so passengers are advised to allow additional travel time, listen to station announcements and check indicator boards. Train tickets can also be used to catch Sydney Buses and Sydney Ferries services instead until 8pm. Buses are supplementing some trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale on the Southern Highlands Line after an earlier bushfire at Glenlee. Buses will be replacing trains between Wyong and Fassifern on the Newcastle & Central Coast Line until early Saturday due to urgent overhead wiring repairs at Dora Creek. Buses are also supplementing some trains between Kiama and Bomaderry (Nowra) on the South Coast Line due to the delays.

Bankstown Line and Inner West Line – Buses replace trains between Liverpool and Villawood
South Line
– Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Fairfield
Cumberland Line – Trains will not operate, express buses replace trains between Glenfield and Parramatta

BUSES
Buses around Concord and Strathfield are up to 20 minutes late due to heavy traffic after a fatal car and motorcycle accident on the M4 at Strathfield.

Buses that normally travel on Church Street in Parramatta will be diverted after 6:30pm via Smith Street, Wilde Street and Victoria Road before returning to Church Street due to road closures for the Sydney Festival Parramatta Opening Party.

FERRIES
Low tides mean buses replace ferries between Parramatta and Rydalmere for services due to depart Circular Quay at 6:35pm, Darling Harbour at 6:15pm and, 7:15pm; and Parramatta at 7:55pm.
