Experience one of the most beautiful zoos in
the world with the largest group of native and exotic animals in New
South Wales. A visit to Taronga Zoo is a delightful experience for the
whole family - young and old.
Come and meet Luk Chai, the first Asian Elephant to be born in Australia, and watch him run around the paddock and wallow in the mud. Watch the spectacular Free Flight Bird Show located in its harbourside amphitheatre, or be photographed next to koalas, giraffes, birds, and reptiles!
You can also explore the new mega-exhibit - Great Southern Oceans. This new attraction will take you on a journey from Australia's beaches and coastlines, to the depths of the southern ocean. See penguins "fly" under water and watch when our sleek seals make a splash in their new habitat pools. Plus you can visit an underground research vessel with a huge underwater viewing window. Sea life as you've never seen it before!
Located just 12 minutes from the city by ferry, the zoo offers visitors a complete day out with free keeper talks and shows throughout the day.
