Advance Notice of changes to the NSW Public Transport Data Exchange (TDX) Program
Since the TDX Program was introduced in September 2009, we have received a lot of feedback about the data, the protocols and the licence agreement.
Partly in response to this feedback, and partly as a result of improvements to the underlying data services, we are planning to implement some changes in the TDX program. Subscribers will be kept informed.
This note is designed to give you advance notice of the proposed changes. Licensees and potential licensees may wish to consider the impact of these changes in planning for their participation in the program.
Data Changes
The fundamental data standard that underpins the TDX program is the open international TransXchange standard. We will retain the TransXchange data format, but improving the way data is presented. This will have the following effects:
- We will make more data available, including information about other public transport services and more detailed information about existing services
- We plan to make the data available in a more efficient structure, to better manage file sizes.
As a result, whilst the data format will not change, the actual contents will be different.
